Washington, DC - Essye Miller has joined DC-based national security strategic advisory firm Pallas Advisors as a Principal. Miller has established expertise in cybersecurity, technology acquisition and adoption, and information assurance, honed over nearly four decades in public service. Most recently, she was selected by former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis to serve as Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer and Acting Defense Chief Information officer at the Department of Defense, where she advised on information management systems and cybersecurity policies. Miller was the Department’s first Black woman in the position of Principal Deputy CIO.
Over the course of her career, Miller has held leadership positions across multiple services, including working as the Director of Information Management and the CIO at Air Force Headquarters, and as the Director of Cybersecurity for the Army Chief Information Officer.
“We are delighted to welcome Essye to the Pallas team,” said Sally Donnelly, Founding Partner at Pallas Advisors. “She understands the possibilities of technology and the need for more rapid adoption at DoD, and her expertise will allow us to bring the best of the best to the men and women serving toward our national defense.”
“The mission of Pallas Advisors strongly resonates with me,” said Miller. “Strengthening the collaboration between the private and public sector is a critical step towards robust national security policy.”
