Pallas Ventures is pleased to announce that Ryan McCarthy is joining the firm as a Managing Director. Ryan brings extraordinary senior level experience in driving change in both the public and private sectors. In senior government posts across three administrations from both parties, he has developed the track record of success at the highest levels of government. In the private sector, his background stretches from banking to a vice president on the F35 program at Lockheed Martin.
Over the last four years in the Army, where he served as the Undersecretary and then the 24th Secretary of the Army, Ryan led the most complex restructuring of the service since the 1980s. He, along with then-Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Mark Milley, designed and implemented the new modernization strategy for the service focused on the ‘Big 6’ priorities and also created Army Futures Command to rapidly adopt disruptive technologies. Ryan's previous government service included working directly for Secretary of Defense Bob Gates during the Bush and Obama Administrations, as well as time on the staff of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Ryan served in combat with the 75th Ranger Regiment during the invasion of Afghanistan.
“I am thrilled to welcome Ryan onto the Pallas Ventures leadership team,” said Richard Spencer, Managing Director at Pallas Ventures. “His leadership experience at the highest levels of government and the private sector will be immensely valuable as we continue to expand our portfolio and support our companies in accelerating the government’s adaptation of innovative technologies.”
Others who continue to be involved in Pallas Ventures include Gary Cohn, the Chairman of the Board of Pallas Advisors, Vice Chairman of IBM, and the former National Economic Council Chair, and Pallas Advisors Founding Partners, Sally Donnelly and Tony DeMartino.
