Admiral (Ret.) Blair on the Present and Future Dangers of Energy Dependence

Pallas Advisors Board Member Admiral (Ret.) Dennis Blair recently co-authored an op-ed in the New York Times with General (Ret.) Joseph Dunford on the dangers of America’s false sense of energy independence.

Admiral Blair and General Dunford argue that the crisis in Ukraine has demonstrated how quickly the impacts of globalized energy interdependence can be used by strategic competitors against the West.

With an eye on future national security threats, supply chain woes, and increasing electric dependency on China, the authors recommend four policies centered around environmental values and domestic production to realize American energy independence.
