Gary is an expert on global markets and economic security issues. Gary most recently served as Director of the U.S. National Economic Council. As President Donald Trump’s chief economic advisor, Gary managed the coordination of the President’s domestic and global economic policy agenda. Prior to government service, Gary spent more than 25 years at Goldman Sachs, including 11 years as President and Chief Operating Officer. Gary lives in New York City, where he is an active philanthropist and venture capital investor. He received his undergraduate degree from American University in 1982.
